UNTITLED,FRANK ROUTLEDGE

This painting by Frank Routledge looks quite realistic because of the use of colours, also how the colours   blend in the whole painting. So that really ties this painting together. This painting also looks very colourful , the colours are in the right place. The  hockey players hockey equipment has lots of detail especially his face expression and everything around him. I think this painting has expression because the hockey player is jumping the bench ready to go on his shift. Also his face has lots of expression because the hockey player looks quite confused and not ready to go on. The artist was trying to say that this hockey player was confused that he was coming out of the penalty box. I find this painting pretty neat looking, colourful and I especially love this panting because I am a huge hockey fan.

Formalism This painting has lots of vertical lines that are colourful and strong to the eye. This painting also has a positive space with the background full of colour with no white in the background. This painting has variety with lots of different shades of these colours. This painting has movement from light colours  to darker shades from right to left .
