surrealism project

Digital surrealism project

“How do I create a photographic art piece, in the surrealist style, that has a meaningful message?”

My  concept  I  tried  to  get  was  a  uncomfortable  feeling.  First  off  at  this  stage  of  our  teenager  life  I  always  feel  watched.  I  feel  watched  even  when  im  in  my private  place  like  my  bedroom.  So  for  that  reason  I  chose  a  person  laying down  in  a  bed  sleeping  with  a  hockey  rink  as  the  background  for  my  digital surrealism  project.  I  did  this  because  I am  a  huge  hockey  fan, and  while playing  my  favourite  sport  hockey  I  always  feel  watched,  I  feel  watched  by  the  spectators  in  the  stands,  my  very  own  parents  and  your  coaches.  So  then  I  decided  to  add  eyes  to  show  the  spectators  in  the  stands  to  show  the  whole fact  about  being  watched  and  uncomfortable  and  put  this  into  my photomontage. Well  now  im  going  to  move  onto  the  challenges  I  had  with  this project.  First  off  I  had  a hard  time  cutting  out  the  bed.  So I  tried  the  magnetic lasso,  and  that  didn’t  turn  out  the  way  I  wanted  to  so  I  tried  the  mask.  I found  the  mask  a lot  easier  but  I still  had  problems  making  a perfect  cutting job  so  I  kept  on  going  and  finished  it.  Now  im  going  to  move  on  the  to  the good  things   did  with  this  photomontage.  Well  I  really  thought  I  did  a  good job  at  taking  the  pictures  and  putting  them  all  the  images  together  creating this  final  product.  I  also  like  the  way  I  cut  out  the  eyes  with  the  mask  and  I applied  the  eyes  to  the  finished  piece.  Lastly  what  I  learned  with  this  project. Well  I  learned  how  to  cut  out  organic  images  and  geometric  images  with  the mask  and  magnetic  lasso  tools. I  also  learned  how  to  use  the  clone  stamp.

Hi everybody i found this very cool stop motion animation video i like it because it is a diffrent style of stop motion animation that i would of never thought of! Well i really like the way the shots all flow together so it actually looks like a video or movie instead of a stop motion animation. the way the perosn made this stop motion film was very interesting because it took a 11 months and 3000 shots to produce this piece film. This video had a  good perspective of the angles of shots so everytime the person wanted to show the next slide it was noticeable and always focused on the specific part the person wanted to show. The lighting was pretty good but there was some parts that were darka nd you wouldnt be bale to notice a a shot or two. Well i found this video interesting i hope all of you guys do to.

Hey everyone this is my outside chess piece photo. The advantages of this photo was that i got to get the whole picture of my chess piece, then i didn't have problems with shinny parts or darker and lighter parts, because there was no light reflecting of my picture. The value in this picture goes dark from the left and then gets lighter through out the right of the chess piece. The line i used is straight hard bold lines i made my back ground feel like it was a tunnel because it starts very dark then gradually gets lighter. I do think this photo has movement because of the tunnel going into the focal point of my chess piece.

Hey everybody this is my chess piece picture on the copy stand this didn't turn out that well because where all of the dark spots are its very glossy and shinny. It became out like this because the shinny part reflected back up into the camera and it became way too glossy and doesn't look that good. The only advantage of the copy stand is that you can get the whole picture and it is very straight.

Hey everybody this is my chess piece picture with the scanner i didn't find this way that great at all since it did not get the top of the picture which is not a very effective way to get a picture of my chess piece but you can get most of the picture instead of the top you can not get. So i don't think this is a very effective way.
